Batiks
The batiks are formed on my handmade paper — building up applications of wax and paint to create a multidimensional representation of the many layers that make up our selves: our memories, our family stories, our marks. They are meant to suggest fragments — on cave walls, or tree trunks, in frescoes or in old houses, in attic trunks or bureau drawers — that retain a bit of all that went before and all that is part of us.
